In the apple kindergarten, the leader Ruth embraces everyone in the best spirit of community, both big and small. She drums for Friday cake and fun - because if the parents are friends, so are the children. But after a parenting party that develops out of the ordinary, the parents each pull their own agendas down over Ruth's safe routines, and slowly the APPLE's rot comes to the surface.
